Influenster: Varsity VoxBox

This past month I received my first real VoxBox, from Influenster. For those of you who are unaware of what Influenster is, it's a website that gives people free products so that they can try them out, rate them, and then spread the word. You will fill out several questionaires, earn badges, and have to perform  several social media tasks. The higher your score, the more likely you are to receive a VoxBox (the free products). I joined in July, and recently received my first one, which I'm going to review right now.

This VoxBox is called the Varsity VoxBox, it's directed towards college students. Below is a picture of all of the products that came inside the box. It came with 3 samples of Clearasil® Daily Clear® Refreshing Superfruit Wash, a bag of Airheads Xtremes Bites, Kiss Nail Dress, NYC New York Color Big Bold Plumping & Shine Lip Gloss, and one Tide Pod.

The first product that I tried were the Airhead Xtremes Bites.  If you've ever had the Airheads Xtremes Sweetly Sour Belts, than you've pretty much had these. They are very tasty, you can't really taste the sourness of them, it tastes more just like sugar coated berry candy. The only difference between these and the original belts are that these are much smaller, but are a lot thicker than before. I am sure that I will buy these again, I ate the entire bag in one day.

The next product that I tried was the NYC New York Color Big Bold Plumping & Shine Lip Gloss. Normally I don't like lip plumping lip gloss, because I don't like the way it makes my lips feel, but that didn't seem to happen with this lip gloss. It feels like normal lip gloss, and glides on very easily. The taste isn't very good, but then again, I've never really liked the taste of the NYC gloss, but it's a very cheap product. I got a very nice color, that isn't very noticeable when I wear it, which is what I like. Overall, I'm not sure if I'd purchase this product, unless it was VERY cheap.

Another product that I got to try were the Kiss Nail Dress. I've used the Sally Hansen nail wraps before, but had never purchased the Kiss brand, even though they are less expensive. I've never really been interested in their designs. The design that I got in the VoxBox was rhinestoned zebra print. Although I'm still young, I didn't think that I'd want to wear it on my hands, so I decided that it'd be best for me to wear on my toes. I had never done nail wraps on my toes before, so I was concerned that they wouldn't last very long. It turns out that putting them on my toes has been a lot more effective for me. I don't have the urge to pull them off when a corner comes up, and this is the longest that I've ever had nail wraps on, it's been 5 days so far. I think from now on if I am to buy nail wraps, I'll be more likely to purchase the Kiss brand, because I like the way the rhinestones look on my toes.

The final product that I've tried so far is the Clearasil® Daily Clear® Refreshing Superfruit Wash. I was kind of hesitant about trying this, because every facial cleanser besides Noxzema makes me break out. In the samples that we got, we didn't receive much. I opened it before I got in the shower to see what it smelled like, it didn't smell like much, but you could smell a hint of fruit in it. After using it, my biggest concern did happen. I had a few breakouts, but I don't blame the product, because like I mentioned I have very sensitive skin that breaks out with pretty much every cleanser. Since it did make me break out I don't think I'll ever purchase this product.

I did receive another product in my VoxBox, which was the Tide Pod, but I have yet to use it. I've used Tide products before, and I really like the scent of them. I have also used pod detergents, and like how easy they are to use. They don't make a mess and are very easy to store. The Tide Pod is supposed to be very unique compared to other pod detergents. They contain a stain fighter, detergent, and brightener. I've never been one to notice much of a difference in laundry detergent. So maybe if this product makes me notice after I try it, then just maybe I'll write a blog specifically for that product, but then again I don't think I'm observant enough for that.

So overall I absolutely loved my first VoxBox. There are several new products that I'll probably go out and buy soon, and am hoping that I'll receive another VoxBox shortly. If you have yet to sign up to Influenster, you should definitely go ahead and do so. They put you on a waiting list for a bit, if I remember right, but I have 5 free invites that I can send out. So if you'd like to leave your email below. I can send those to the first 5 people.

Thank you for reading my blog.

Kelsey :)
